There have been numerous (44) film and TV programmes based on the book by Oscar Wilde since he first published the full book in 1890.  The earliest known film was a short, black and white, silent movie in Danish in 1910. The most recent full length film was released in 2009 (image below) and there is a TV series planned for 2017.

A young, innocent man is encouraged into a world of debauchery.  He has a portrait painted of himself and wishes that he could always stay as young as the portrait shows him. Henceforth, all the effects of his lifestyle do not show on his face or body; they are added to the portrait leaving him to be immortal.

A corrupt young man somehow keeps his youthful beauty eternally, but a special painting gradually reveals his inner ugliness to all. IMDb
